KNOPPIX is a bootable DVD with an operating system (GNU/Linux) for PC-type computers, a collection of software, automatic hardware detection. KNOPPIX can be used among others as: - Linux demo CDROM (can be adapted to serve as a platform for a commercial product demo) - Training CDROM - Rescue System - Because Knoppix can be installed on the hard drive, Full permanent operating system - Nomadic system being coupled to a USB key It is not necessary to install anything on the hard drive to use Knoppix (it is nevertheless possible to install Knoppix on the hard drive).
